What to Expect:
Community-scale fire spread, or conflagration continues to plague communities across the West, most recently in Los Angeles County, California. In March 2025, IBHS launched the Wildfire Prepared Neighborhood standard and pilot designation program. Members will get a personalized walk-through of the new standard and its value in addressing the factors and chain of events that lead to conflagration. Additionally, 2024 proved to be a successful year in the codes arena, so IBHS code experts will dive into code advancements, gaps, and their use as a tool for community-scale wildfire mitigation.
