What to Expect:

Without a natural catastrophe event, the insurance industry is suffering from more than $50 billion in insured losses from severe convective storms for the first time on record, causing many to ask questions of how this could happen. IBHS will detail how issues beyond record-breaking hail and tornado outbreaks are driving the increasing losses in severe convective storm events. The team will demonstrate how IBHS research is delivering a deeper understanding of these loss drivers and identify proven solutions to mitigate vulnerabilities now through field and laboratory research.

You will learn:

  • How asphalt shingles perform in SCS events
  • How building codes and product approvals affect the SCS loss problem
  • Mitigation solutions, including FORTIFIED, available now

Joining hosts Christina Gropp and Sarah Dillingham will be IBHS Experts:

  • Dr. Ian Giammanco, Managing Director of Standards & Data Analytics and Lead Research Meteorologist
  • Brenna Meisenzahl, Research Project Scientist
  • Jake Sorber, Research Project Scientist

*Provide your questions via the chat window during the webinar and stay for a LIVE Q&A at the end of the broadcast.
