BOSTON - "Disaster Safety: Choice or Chance" is the theme of the Institute for Business & Home Safety’s (IBHS) seventh annual Congress to be held Sept. 13 to 15 in Newport, R.I., at the Hyatt Regency.
This year’s Congress will feature speakers and programs on a variety of topics related to natural disaster safety planning, including business preparedness, community vulnerability assessment tools, building codes, risk analysis and retrofitting techniques.
A series of education courses on business continuity, land use and building requirements/ordinance or law coverage will also be offered. An exhibit hall also will be open each day of the Congress where more than 25 organizations will showcase their products, services and information.
