BOSTON - The Institute for Business & Home Safety (IBHS) will relocate its offices from Boston to Tampa, Fla., effective October 2 this year.

According to IBHS President and CEO Harvey Ryland, “Tampa gives us a more strategic base from which to do our job of reducing the social and financial losses caused by natural disasters. The new location also will help keep our operating costs down.”

He added that while Florida has a special focus on hurricanes, the IBHS will continue its work to reduce losses from all kinds of windstorms, as well as from hailstorms, earthquakes, wildfires and floods. Its major projects involve communication, education, engineering and research.

The Institute’s new address and telephone numbers will be:

1408 North Westshore Blvd.
Suite 208
Tampa, FL 33607
813-286-3400 (Voice)
813-286-9960 (FAX)

The IBHS website (www.ibhs.org) and staff e-mail addresses are unchanged.
