IBHS Expands Engineering Staff with Addition of Civil, Environmental Professional

Tampa - Mr. Mike Salmon has joined the Institute for Business & Home Safety (IBHS) in the new position of Senior Engineering Manager. 

Mr. Salmon will coordinate the activities of the IBHS engineering department as well as provide technical expertise to support related IBHS committees.

Mr. Salmon most recently worked for Poe Financial Services in Tampa as engineering services manager.  Prior to that, he served the City of Tampa for nearly three decades, directing both the Department of Public Works and Stormwater Department during his career. 

Mr. Salmon has master’s degrees in civil engineering and in public works. He is also certified as both a professional engineer and an environmental engineer.

The Institute for Business & Home Safety is an initiative of the insurance industry that works to reduce the social and economic effects of natural disasters and other property losses by conducting research and advocating improved construction, maintenance and preparation practices.
