The Institute for Business & Home Safety can be an important source for well-rounded news coverage during the 2002 Hurricane Season.
In addition to tips on hurricane protection and how to build disaster-resistant homes, IBHS offers material to help businesses develop disaster safety plans as well as information that will help them recover from a disaster more quickly.
IBHS also offers a number of staff experts who can speak to the media on a variety of natural disaster-related topics, including land use planning, an engineering perspective on the effects of natural disasters and how to protect against them, and the benefits of proper of building codes.
Throughout the hurricane season, topical articles will be added to the IBHS web site. Visit the Newsroom and read the headlines under Safety Saves News for a complete listing. Some of the hurricane-related articles include "The Hurricane Season is Approaching. Are you Ready?", "The Quest for Better Community Planning", and "Disaster Safety Measures Can Mean Higher Property Values".
